UNDERSTANDING MAGNIFICATION 2
IN THIS MICROGRAPH, THERE ARE RED BLOOD CELLS AND WHITE BLOOD CELLS IN A CAPILLARY
THE RED BLOOD CELLS ARE SHAPED LIKE DOUGHNUTS, BUT WITH NO HOLE IN THE MIDDLE. THE WHITE BLOOD CELLS ARE SHAPED LIKE BALLS WITH A ROUGH SURFACE. THE CAPILLARY IS THE
"TUNNEL" THAT THEY ARE PASSING THROUGH.
PROCEDURE:
1. ON A SHEET OF GRAPH PAPER, DRAW ALL THREE PARTS OF THE PICTURE THE SAME SIZE WITH ATTENTION TO DETAIL. YOU MAY MAKE THEM WHATEVER SIZE THAT YOU'D LIKE,
BUT THEY MUST ALL BE THE SAME SIZE.
2. USE THE SCALE IN THE PICTURE, TO DETERMINE THE ACTUAL SIZE OF A RED BLOOD CELL, A WHITE BLOOD CELL AND THE CAPILLARY.
